Po Returns: 'Kung Fu Panda 3' Plot Details and Teaser Info Revealed

Kung Fu Panda 3 is almost exactly a year away, but we got some new plot details and information on its first teaser...

DreamWorks only has one film out this year, and that's Home, which is right around the corner.

Their next, Kung Fu Panda 3, is on track for March 18, 2016.

Also, if you've never seen the two films, or the second film, read no further. Spoiler territory ahead...

A good friend of mine named Lauren found this for me, it's the January issue of the UK magazine Toy World, and it reveals some plot details about the upcoming threequel. In the story, Po is going to reunite with his father (of course, he's alive and that was teased at the end of Kung Fu Panda 2), he's going to go this birth place, and his marriage has been arranged. His future wife, a panda named Mei Mei. The villain is named The Collector, a menace who steals the power of every kung fu master he takes down. Naturally, he plans to go after Po.

Bryan Cranston will voice Po's real father, Rebel Wilson will voice Mei Mei, and Madds Mikelssen will voice The Collector as expected. I do wonder... Who is that second villain? I guess that'll be the film's big mystery. According to the older plot synopsis, one villain will be supernatural (I'm assuming The Collector will be just that) and one more close to home. Hmmm... A villainous panda? The father turning out to be evil? The future bride? Who knows!

Lauren also found this. This reviewer confirms (with spoilers) that the teaser for Kung Fu Panda 3 will be attached to Home, but it'll be a teaser/short film. Remember Home's first teaser last March? It'll be like that.

Count me in! Kung Fu Panda is an epic series and I'm totally excited about the third entry. It's sure to do very well, too, for DreamWorks really needs a boost like that. The wait was quite long, so I'm glad that they intend to market it very soon...
