A teaser, two "extended looks," a full trailer, and now another full trailer... "Cars 3 is coming!" Pixar proclaims loudly...
This is one loud, borderline-aggressive trailer... Heck, it even has Hans Zimmer/Inception bwammmmms in it!
It's what you'd expect, but seriously, the trailer is a real adrenaline rush... This time, there's a little more humor, but it still doesn't concern a certain tow truck. I have to admit, Lightning McQueen trying out the speed simulator was really, really funny. At this point I'm being repetitive, but I'm really digging this film's marketing. Whether it'll make the movie a smash or not remains to be seen, my prediction remains the same - it lands somewhere between Planes ($90m domestically) and Cars 2 ($191m domestically).
But this marketing campaign really seems like Pixar and Disney's marketing department trying their damnedest to get non-fans of Cars excited to see this. I like the effort... Outside of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming (a Sony joint, anyways), this is their only other summer blockbuster. Might as well make this thing a big hit, eh?
What say you on this new trailer?
